DeAndre Houston-Carson is an accomplished American football player, born on April 13, 1993. Having made significant strides in his career, Houston-Carson is presently a free agent in the sport. He started his journey in the game at a higher educational level, playing college football at the prestigious institution of William & Mary.

DeAndre’s talent and dedication led to his recognition in the professional sphere when he was chosen in the sixth round, 185th overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2016 NFL draft. This marked the beginning of his promising professional career as, on May 9, 2016, he signed a four-year contract with the Bears, a testament to his budding prowess and potential influence in the team.

Houston-Carson’s commitment to the sport shone through a year later when, despite being waived by the Bears on September 2, 2017, he remained attached to the team as part of the practice squad. His resilience and work ethic were rewarded when he was promoted to the active roster on September 19, 2017, granting him the opportunity to play in more competitive matches.

Despite transitioning to a free agent status after the 2018 season, Houston-Carson never strayed far from his roots. He re-signed with the Bears for a one-year deal on March 29, 2019. He contributed significantly to the team in the subsequent season, playing every game and recording six tackles on special teams- a feat which marked him as the third most effective player on the team.

The Bears acknowledged the value that Houston-Carson brought to the team and re-signed him on March 31, 2020. His contributions were crucial in the Week 5 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football. He successfully broke up a pass from Tom Brady in the dying minutes of the game, aiding the Bears to an exciting 20-19 victory. Houston-Carson further proved his mettle in the following game by intercepting a pass from Teddy Bridgewater of the Carolina Panthers, tightly sealing a 23-16 victory for the Bears.

Although the Bears re-engaged him for another one-year contract on March 25, 2021, Houston-Carson fell into tough times as his promising ground was disrupted by a fractured forearm in Week 14. This unfortunate circumstance led to his placement on season-ending injured reserve on December 13, 2021.

Rising from this setback, he was re-signed by the Bears on March 20, 2022. DeAndre soon transitioned to the Baltimore Ravens, signing with them on August 14, 2023. He, however, was released on August 28, 2023. Not one to give up easily, Houston-Carson continued to pursue his passion for the game by signing with the Houston Texans practice squad on September 12, 2023.
