Cordarrelle Patterson

Cordarrelle Patterson is a professional American football wide receiver and kick returner for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and has also played for the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, and New York Jets. He played college football at Tennessee.

Patterson attended Northwestern High School where he starred as both a running back and wide receiver on offense while playing safety on defense. During his senior season in 2011, he had over 1,400 rushing yards along with 15 touchdowns. On defense he recorded 45 tackles with three interceptions including one returned for a touchdown. That year he earned Gatorade Player of The Year honors and was named Mr Football in North Carolina becoming just 10th player to earn both awards since their inception in 1986.

At Tennessee Patterson became an instant star as freshman earning All-SEC Freshman Team honors after returning two kickoffs for touchdowns during his first year on campus en route to totaling 888 yards combined as kickoff returner . As sophomore Patterson’s role grew significantly leading team with 46 receptions despite playing primarily out of wildcat formation meaning few opportunities against traditional defenses but still managed 778 receiving yards five receiving touchdowns which brought attention from scouts around league before entering junior season .
