Cody Hollister's Biography
Born on November 18, 1993, Cody Hollister stepped into the world of American Football, where he leaves no stone unturned to make his position irreplaceable. He played the position of wide receiver and is currently recognized as a free agent. The journey that led him to this point is filled with daring challenges and formidable successes.
Having his strong foundations built at Arkansas, Hollister played college football there, which paved the way for his budding football career. His path of perseverance began to flourish when he was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2017.
Unfortunately, a pause button was pushed on his journey when he was waived by the Patriots on September 2, 2017. Yet he bounced back robustly from this setback by being signed to the practice squad just the following day. Showing his tenacity and resilience as a sportsman, Hollister continued to stand his ground even when the odds seemed against him.
A ray of hope shone for Hollister on February 6, 2018, when he signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots. However, life took a swift turn when Hollister was waived by the Patriots due to a non-football injury on July 24, 2018. After the subsequent clearing of waivers and revocation to the Patriots’ non-football injury list, it was publicly announced that he would have to undergo back surgery.
Despite these trying times, Hollister scripted history when he, alongside his brother, won Super Bowl LIII. This victory came after the Patriots scored a triumphant defeat against the Los Angeles Rams with a final scoreline of 13–3.
After his moment in the spotlight with the Patriots, Hollister moved to the Tennessee Titans, signing with them on May 13, 2019. The carousel of temporary setbacks resumed as he was waived on August 31, 2019, only to be signed back to the practice squad the very next day. His determination saw him promoted to the active roster on November 9, 2019.
In another twist of fate, Hollister was waived by the Titans on September 15, 2020, only to be re-signed to the practice squad two days later. He was brought to the active roster for the Titans’ week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills on October 13,1010, and once again reverted to the practice squad post-game.
Adding to his string of challenges, Hollister found himself on the practice squad/COVID-19 list on December 19, 2020. Still, like before, he bounced back and was restored to the practice squad on December 30 that same year.
Starting the year 2021 on a positive note, Hollister was signed to a futures contract by the Titans on January 11. However, the year saw him experiencing some setbacks again – he was placed on injured reserve on August 7, released on August 17, and then signed to the Titans practice squad again on November 16. Demonstrating his skills on the playing field once more, he was activated from the practice squad to play against his former team, the New England Patriots, on November 28, 2021.
After the Titans’ elimination from the Divisional Round in the playoffs in 2021, Hollister remained steadfast, signing a reserve/future contract on January 24, 2022. Even though he was waived during final roster cuts on August 30, Hollister was immediately re-signed to the practice squad the next day. However, by December 5, 2022, he was placed on injured reserve due to unforeseen circumstances.
Cody Hollister is the twin brother of Jacob Hollister, a talented tight end player who has most recently played for the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL. Despite the challenges and setbacks, Cody Hollister’s journey continues to be an inspiring example of resilience, perseverance, and the never-say-die attitude of a true sportsperson.
