Christian Ringo's Biography

Christian Jacques Rashad Ringo, born on March 10, 1992, started his journey in the world of professional American football as a nose tackle. Born in America, the footballer kicked off his college playing career with Louisiana before he entered the National Football League (NFL), currently a free agent.

Ringo initiated his professional football career when he was drafted into the NFL by the Green Bay Packers in 2015. His selection came in the sixth round of the draft, where he was the 210th overall pick. Not too long after, on May 8, 2015, Ringo officially signed his contract with the Packers. However, his time at the franchise was cut short. The Packers let him go during the final team cuts on September 5, 2015.

Despite this setback, Ringo continued training with the Packers as part of their practice squad, signing onto the team on September 7, 2015. Showing great strides in his endeavors, he earned praise from Jayrone Elliott, then linebacker of the Packers, labeling Ringo as ‘the captain of the scout team’ in November of that year. During that season, another team reportedly showed interest in acquiring the player for their active roster. However, Ringo decided to forego that opportunity and instead accepted an increased salary offer from the Packers, allowing him to continue his time in their practice squad.

As the 2016 preseason arrived, Ringo made his undeniable mark in the league by recording four tackles and two sacks, a performance that solidified his position in the Packers’ active roster. His NFL debut saw him facing the Jacksonville Jaguars soon after, finishing the match with a single tackle.

In 2017, Ringo signed his exclusive rights tender with the Packers, officially remaining with the team. However, his time with the franchise was cut short again when the Packers let him go on September 5, 2017. Consequently, the Cincinnati Bengals claimed Ringo off waivers the following day, though his tenure there was short-lived as the Bengals waived him only six days after his acquisition.

Ringo rebounded quickly, joining the Detroit Lions practice squad on September 14, 2017. After some time, he was promoted to the Lions’ active roster on November 22, 2017. Unfortunately, in August 2018, the Lions released Ringo.

Shortly after, Ringo found his way to the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on September 26, 2018. While he momentarily joined the active roster in November, he was quickly waived, but then re-signed to the practice squad. Curiously, the Bengals claimed Ringo off the Cowboys practice squad on November 23, 2018.

Ringo’s career took an international turn July 1, 2020, when he joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL). As the COVID-19 pandemic called off the 2020 CFL season, Ringo opted out of his contract with the Bombers in August 2020.

Returning to the United States, Ringo signed on to the New Orleans Saints practice squad on November 11, 2020. Yet he was released from the squad on January 11, 2021, only to sign back with the Saints as a reserve for future contracts on January 18, 2021.

Ringo’s NFL career continued to be dynamic, as he signed on with the Arizona Cardinals on July 29, 2022. Yet again, his time at his new home was brief as he was released on August 30, 2022. Quick to bounce back, Ringo returned to the practice squad of the Saints on August 31, and stayed till his release on October 20. Ringo’s latest venture as of this biography sees him joining the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad as he was signed on December 28, 2022, only to be released early in 2023 on January 10.
