Chandon Lamar Sullivan came into the world on August 7, 1996, destined for the football field. Today, he is recognized as an esteemed American football cornerback with a successful collegiate career under his belt and now continues his journey through the professional leagues as a highly-regarded free agent.

Sullivan’s passion for football took off during his time at Georgia State, where he spent four years in the field, emerging as a standout player for Georgia State Panthers. Over the course of his college career, he earned a reputation for being a reliable and prolific cornerback. Participating in 49 matches and opening 44 of them, he was able to set a commendable benchmark in the intercollegiate football scenario.

Regarded as a true panther, Sullivan set a school record for interceptions (7) and pass breakups (25). Moreover, he secured his position as fifth in career tackles (182), demonstrating a perfect blend of aggression, competitiveness, and sheer determination. As a senior, he made history at Georgia State by being the first player to be invited to the Senior Bowl and becoming the team’s debut Academic All-American.

It was on April 28, 2018, that his exceptional talent was recognized by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles signed Sullivan as an undrafted free agent. Although he didn’t make the initial cut for the Eagles’ 53-man roster right after the training camp, the Eagles saw potential in Sullivan and signed him to their practice squad on September 2.

Persistence paid off for Sullivan when he was promoted to the active roster after Derek Barnett was placed on injured reserve. On October 28, 2018, Sullivan made his NFL debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars, playing mainly on special teams. His performance continued to improve, leading to his first career start on November 25, 2018, against the New York Giants.

His career met a minor setback as he sustained an injury during the game after making three tackles and defending a pass. Sullivan was released by the Eagles on December 24, 2018, however, recognizing his potential, he was re-signed for the practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Eagles on January 14, 2019, after finishing his rookie season with five games, one starting, and seven tackles.

In a surprising turn, Sullivan was waived on May 1, 2019, but within a week, on May 6, Sullivan was signed by the Green Bay Packers. His talent caught the attention of the Packers and earned him a spot on the team after training camp.

Sullivan’s career highlights with the Packers include an interception from Dak Prescott in week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, contributing significantly to the Packers’ 34-24 win. He played in all 16 of Green Bay’s regular-season games, recording 30 tackles, defending six passes, making an interception, and forcing a fumble.

In addition to this, Sullivan also played in both of the team’s playoff games. Recognizing his contributions, the Packers tendered Sullivan for another year as an exclusive rights free agent on March 17, 2020, and he officially signed the tender on April 27, 2020.

In September 2020, Sullivan managed to intercept a pass from Matthew Stafford during a game against the Detroit Lions. This interception turned unanticipated when Sullivan returned the intercepted ball for his maiden career touchdown during the 42-21 win.

The following year, the Packers extended a restricted free agent tender to Sullivan in March 2021, which he signed in April the same year. As part of an impressive career path, Sullivan’s journey took a new turn when he signed a one-year contract with Minnesota Vikings on March 25, 2022.

Sullivan’s memorable moments also include some controversies. During an iconic comeback victory over Indianapolis Colts, trailing 33-0, Sullivan was charged with a costly unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. After learning his fumble recovery had been ruled out, he tossed his helmet in frustration. Despite this, Sullivan’s career continued with form signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on May 2, 2023.
