Bryce Perkins's Biography

Born on December 20, 1996, Bryce Perkins is a renowned figure in the world of American professional football. Currently playing as a quarterback for the Michigan Panthers of the United Football League (UFL), Perkins has had an exciting, dynamic career in football spanning various sectors of the sporting industry.

Perkins first found his feet in the world of football during his high school years at Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona. He showcased an undeniable talent on the field, earning him the opportunity to lead Chandler to its first state championship victory since 1949 during his senior year. His remarkable contribution to the team didn’t stop there. Throughout his high school sporting career, Perkins totaled an impressive 5,332 passing yards and 70 touchdown passes, in addition to setting a record of 26 rushing touchdowns.

Inspired to further hone his skills, Perkins committed to continuing his football journey at Arizona State University. His freshman year in 2015 was marked by him redshirting, and unfortunately, the following year saw him out of the game due to a neck injury. Despite these setbacks, Perkins remained undeterred and transferred to Arizona Western College in 2017.

In his only season at Arizona Western, Perkins left quite the mark. He racked up a total of 1,311 passing yards and seven touchdowns. On top of this, he also managed to rush for 353 yards, ultimately leading to four more touchdowns.

Undeterred by the changes and transitions, Perkins transferred to the University of Virginia in 2018, before the season had even started, he had been announced as the starting quarterback for the team. In an unparalleled performance, Perkins shone through all 13 games, setting a single-season school record for total offense with 3,603 yards and 34 touchdowns. Perkins returned to Virginia in the 2019 season, once again playing as the starting quarterback and achieving significant results.

The following year turned out to be a significant milestone in Perkins’ career. On April 25, 2020, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. Although Perkins was initially waived by the team, he re-signed the very next day to the practice squad. After a couple of key elevations to the active roster in January 2021, Perkins finally signed a reserve/futures contract with the team later the same month.

Perkins’ efforts did not go unnoticed; he was among the players who received a Super Bowl ring following the Rams’ victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. He finally made his professional debut in the NFL in 2022, filling in for Matthew Stafford over the course of three weeks, against strong competitors like the Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

On April 24, 2024, Perkins signed with the Michigan Panthers of the United Football League (UFL) — a vital step in his professional career. Despite facing a setback due to an injury, Perkins rejoined the team later in August 2024, ready to take on new challenges.

Away from his individual journey, football runs deep within Perkins’ blood. His father, Bruce Perkins, enjoyed a brief yet memorable stint in the NFL as a fullback player for Arizona State. His uncle, Don Perkins, played eight successful seasons as a running back with the Dallas Cowboys. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his older brother, Paul Perkins, also made his way to the NFL, forging a career as a running back.

Expressive of perseverance, ambition, and sheer talent, Bryce Perkins’ journey through the world of football is nothing short of inspirational. He continues to set new boundaries and achieve great heights, epitomizing the spirit of a dedicated sportsman.
