Brandon Parker's Biography

Brandon Malik Parker was born on October 21, 1995, in Kannapolis, North Carolina. His parents, George Curtis Parker III and Regina, both come from athletic backgrounds, providing him with the foundation for what would become an illustrious career in American football.

Attending A.L. Brown High School, Parker began to make his mark in varsity football by his senior year. His leadership on this high school team, known as the Wonders, led them to an 8-4 record that year, with the team averaging an impressive 287 yards rushing per game and a completion rate of 62.4%.

After leaving college, Parker found himself at North Carolina A&T after garnering attention from several different schools but not receiving the recognition level he deserved from Division 1 programs. He faced his rookie season on the bench as a redshirt, perfecting his game and waiting in the wings for his opportunity to shine. It came sooner than expected when, in 2014, the Aggies’ left tackle William Robinson was injured, thrusting Parker into the starting lineup. He played all twelve games that season and was even awarded third-team All-MEAC honors.

By 2016, he had firmly established himself as a core part of the Aggies’ offensive line, earning the offensive lineman of the week award five times throughout the season and being involved in 779 gradable plays. Parker’s impressive performances did not go unnoticed, resulting in All-MEAC first-team recognition and the conference’s Offensive Lineman of the Year award for two consecutive seasons.

Parker’s final season with the Aggies in 2017 was one of noteworthy success. He never allowed a single sack during his collegiate career, a testament to his skill as a left tackle. This display of athletic prowess culminated in him receiving the MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Year award yet again, making him the first to win the award three seasons in a row.

Entering the National Football League (NFL) was an opportunity for Parker to showcase his skills on a wider stage, and he made sure to impress the scouts at the 2018 Senior Bowl by displaying his agility and strength. His performance led to an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, where he further proved his worth by placing third among all offensive linemen in the broad jump.

Parker was eventually drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Oakland Raiders, where he signed a four-year contract with the team. His lineage also includes an older sister, Jasmine, a former member of the women’s basketball program at NC A&T.
