Beau Brinkley's Biography

Beau Michael Brinkley, born on January 25, 1990, is a professional American football player known for his role as a long snapper. Currently a free agent, Brinkley has played for notable football organizations, contributing significantly to their competitive performances over the years.

Marking his path in football at the tertiary level, Brinkley underwent his college education at the University of Missouri, where he passionately pursued the sport. In his college tenure, his performance led to a concluding tally of 12 tackles. He registered five of these tackles during his senior year. In his junior year, he cemented his role as the team’s long snapper for the third consecutive year. On his sophomore journey, his sports prowess was well recognized with the MU Special Teams MVP award, an appreciation that followed his freshman year’s recognition as the MU Walk-on MVP.

Attempted to remain undrafted in 2012, Brinkley signed a contract with the Tennessee Titans on April 30. He made a significant professional milestone on September 9 of the same year, marking his debut in an NFL game against the New England Patriots. Recognizing his commitment and skills, the Titans, on March 8, 2015, signed a five-year extension contract with Brinkley, worth $5.75 million.

In the course of his professional career with the Titans, Brinkley reached another milestone on September 30, 2018, when he played his 100th career game in a match that ended in a 26-23 overtime victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Titans ended the season with their third consecutive 9-7 run but unfortunately did not make it to the playoffs. Brinkley executed his snaps for punter Brett Kern, who was named to the Pro Bowl for the second year running.

With his contract approaching its end, Brinkley signed another multi-year extension with the Titans on September 6, 2019. Throughout the season, he had vital contributions, helping Brett Kern get his third consecutive Pro Bowl recognition and First-team All-Pro selection. Brinkley had the honor of being named a Pro Bowl alternate for the 2020 Pro Bowl on December 18, 2019.

In the same season, the Titans had a significant breakthrough by attaining a fourth consecutive 9-7 record that qualified them for the playoffs. Their resilience led them to victories over the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens, only to lose to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, in the AFC Championship Game.

On September 29, 2020, the team placed Brinkley, DaQuan Jones, and Tommy Hudson on the reserve/COVID-19 list, from which Brinkley was activated on October 11.

The following year, Brinkley joined the Detroit Lions’ practice squad on September 25, 2021, but his stay was short-lived as he was released two days later. On November 12, he was signed to the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad, from where he was promoted to the active roster.

After his release on December 14, Brinkley relocated to the Los Angeles Chargers on December 28 of the same year, where he played until his release on January 3, 2022. He quickly rebounded, signing with the Chicago Bears on February 16, 2022.

Barely a month after joining the Bears, Brinkley was released on March 17, and on April 4, 2022, he marked a new chapter by signing a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons. However, he was placed on Injured reserve on May 2, 2022.
