Allen Bernard Robinson II was born on August 24, 1993 and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He discovered his passion for football at an early age, playing for the Eaglets at St. Mary’s Preparatory. Not only did he lead this team to the Division 3 State Championship during his senior year, but he also began creating a reputation for his prowess on the football field. Notably, his inherent leadership qualities and athletic prowess were evident on and off the field, from being a teammate of Rob Bolden, a fellow Penn State quarterback, to his participation on the St. Mary’s Preparatory track and field team.

Robinson committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions on November 29, 2010. His talent caught the eyes of assistant coach Ron Vanderlinden, who saw potential in the young player. Notwithstanding his offers from Minnesota, Buffalo, and Toledo, Robinson chose Penn State, a decision that would eventually shape his collegiate career significantly.
