Golden State listed her on its final 2026 roster after she joined the franchise through the 2024 WNBA Expansion Draft. Burton was born July 12, 2000, attended Northwestern, and wears No. 22 for the Valkyries.
The Dallas Wings selected Burton seventh overall in the first round of the 2022 WNBA Draft. At Northwestern, she established herself as an elite defensive guard: she won the WBCA Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022, earned AP All-America Third Team recognition, and was a three-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Her college résumé also included a Big Ten championship and a key role in Northwestern’s 2021 NCAA Tournament breakthrough.
Burton’s professional path has included Dallas, Connecticut and Golden State. With the Valkyries in 2025, she moved into a central on-ball role and was named the 2025 Kia WNBA Most Improved Player. Her game is built around disruptive point-of-attack defense, composed decision-making and playmaking from the guard spot; Golden State has also relied on her to take demanding defensive assignments while organizing the offense.
