Kaitlyn Chen is a 5-foot-9 guard for the Golden State Valkyries as of September 11, 2026. Golden State signed her to a training-camp contract on April 12, 2026, and she appears on the club’s current 2026 roster. Chen entered the WNBA when the Valkyries selected her with the 30th overall pick in the 2025 draft. Born February 22, 2002, she is a UConn graduate and became the first player of Taiwanese descent to play in the WNBA.
Chen’s route to the league included three playing seasons at Princeton before a graduate season at Connecticut. At Princeton, she earned 2023 Ivy League Player of the Year honors, made First-Team All-Ivy in 2023 and 2024, and was named Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player three times. She then helped UConn win the 2025 NCAA championship. Golden State has highlighted her speed, defensive willingness and team-first approach, qualities that suit a guard who can pressure the ball, push tempo and support a lineup as a connector.
