Nick Maximov is a professional mixed martial artist from the Ukraine who fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) heavyweight division. He began his professional fighting career in 2013 and has compiled an impressive 11-1 record.

Maximov was born on October 9, 1989 in Donetsk, Ukraine. He had an interest in combat sports from a young age and began to train judo at 10 years old under coach Oleg Khomchenko. Under Khomchenko’s tutelage, Maximov won numerous national championships and international tournaments before deciding to pursue mixed martial arts when he turned 21.

Maximov is known for his exciting style of fighting which combines powerful striking with strong submission grappling skills resulting in thrilling battles inside the octagon. His greatest strength is arguably his ground game as four of his eleven victories have come by way of submission including two arm triangle chokes and one rear naked choke victory over UFC veteran Chase Sherman at UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Dillashaw in January 2019.

Maximov started training MMA with legendary fight team Red Devil Sport Club where he worked alongside notable fighters such as former Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler and current UFC lightweight contender Islam Makhachev. During this period, Maximov competed extensively on the European circuit ultimately becoming FNG Heavyweight Champion after defeating Bakhtiyar Barotov at FNG 86: Battle On The Neva 2 via Arm Triangle Choke Submission during round 3. This win caught the eye of Dana White who offered him a contract with UFC shortly afterwards making him their first Ukrainian heavyweight fighter since Olexander Emelianenko back in 2009..

Upon entering the UFc scene Maxmiv immediately made an impact picking up impressive wins against Sylvester Enzinelli by Unanimous Decision back at June 2018’s Ultimate Fighter Finale 27 event followed by victories over Maurice Greene via Rear Nakeed Choke Submission at November 2018”s TUF 28 Finale event as well as Gian Villante via Armbar Subimission during August 2020’s Fight Night 172 event . Despite these successes Nick has come up short against Derrick Lewis suffering a third round knockout loss back at April 2020’s Jacksonville card , however many pundits agree that this experience will only serve him better going forward .

At 31 years old and having already compiled an impressive 11-1 record it appears we are still yet to see maximising best performances inside The Octogon , so it will be interesting to see how far he can go within one of MMA most stacked divisions .
