Andre Petroski is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight division. He was born on October 24, 1992 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Growing up, he attended East Stroudsburg University where he studied kinesiology and psychology.
Petroski started his MMA career at a young age when he joined Team Curran Mixed Martial Arts Academy at the age of sixteen. After two years of training there, he made a successful debut against Misfit Gym’s Christian Maldonado on June 16th 2012 and won via TKO in 1:53 into round one.
He continued to make an impact by winning his next three fights as well after which he signed with the Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC). His first appearance with MFC was against Josh Machan whom he defeated via unanimous decision. Following this win, Andre went on to defeat Mike Hackert via submission due to strikes within 3 minutes of round one making it his fastest victory till date. During this time period Andre also competed for various other promotions like Bellator MMA, where he faced off against Andrew Sanchez; Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) and Valor Fights among others and amassed an impressive record of 10-2-1 while doing so.
In 2017 Andre received a call from UFC matchmakers to sign him after they noticed his great performance outside promotion as well as inside MFC cage where be held a record of 6 wins out of seven fights including four finishes within round one or two indicating great power combined with technical ability that impressed them enough for signing him up for UFC Fight Night 118 event scheduled for October 21st 2017 in Gdansk , Poland . This marked his official debut into the biggest stage global MMA has ever seen i.. e UFC octagon . At this event Petroski faced off against Polish fighter Artem Lobov whom surprisingly beat him via unanimous decision but lost no respect from fans due to valiant effort put forward by both fighters throughout all three rounds resulting into very close fight regarding scorecards . On December 30th 2018 at lastly held event “The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale” , Petrosky defeated Matt Frevola via split decision marking initial victories inside Octagon establishing himself as legit contender amongst light weight roster .. In 2019 , He fought former champion Anthony Pettis on full contact ruleset bout but eventually lost out due too small size difference between two athletes resulting into takedowns dominance displayed by Pettis thus earning win .. Last year 2020 saw Petrsovsky returning back inside octagon after long layoff defeating Scott Holtzmanand defying odds yet again exhibiting massive improvements made during layoff suggesting strong future ahead filled with championship crowning moments .. Overall , His current UFC record stands 8 wins out 8 losses along side notable victories over renowned opponents like Michael Johnson & Marco Polo Reyes proving that why is considered amongst most promising light weights around world today .
