Jacqueline Cavalcanti is a Brazilian professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter who has been competing in the UFC since 2014. She currently fights in the Women’s Flyweight division and is one of Brazil’s top ranked female MMA fighters.
Cavalcanti was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she began her martial arts training at an early age. After high school, she moved to the United States to train with former UFC Fighter Jason MacDonald and eventually joined his team at Jackson-Wink gym Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In 2014, Cavalcanti made her professional MMA debut by winning a unanimous decision over Alida Gray on June 13th at MFC 40: Night of Champions 4. Since then she has gone onto win five more fights for a total record of 6-1 as of 2015 before joining the UFC roster after signing a multi-fight contract with them later that same year.
Her first fight under Zuffa LLC was against Kailin Curran at The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned Finale on December 12th 2014 where she won via first round submission (rear naked choke). This earned her “Submission Of The Night” honors for which she received an extra $50k bonus from the promotion on top of her regular purse money from fighting in this bout. Since then she has had four more fights including most recently against Jessica Eye on April 25th 2017 when again winning via submission (armbar) earning “Performance Of The Night” honors once again along with yet another bonus check worth $50k from Dana White himself during their post fight press conference held after this event had concluded its main card matches.
Outside of fighting professionally Cavalcanti also teaches self defense classes for women which emphasizes awareness and prevention tactics meant to help protect victims or would be victims from potential assailants or attackers while allowing them enough space to make choices about how they want handle different situations they find themselves in depending on whatever context they encounter it within instead just relying solely elevated levels aggression as their only form defense like so many other self defense programs out there recommend doing and promote teaching too often do these days unfortunately enough making it harder than ever nowdays stay safe especially if you are woman living alone all by yourself without anyone else around that can help should something happen unexpectedly somewhere along way while we go throughout our daily lives trying just live life here like everybody else does even if it means coming up with some creative ways doing so order still get safely everywhere need go without worrying being attacked every turn taken take no matter what may happen end day regardless any unforeseen dangers lurking out there waiting patiently ambush us when least expect it sometimes leading poor unfortunate outcomes such cases which none us really wants experience firsthand whatever circumstances might have been nevertheless rejecting possibility entirely outright simply isn’t option either anymore sadly speaking no more wishful thinking let alone hoping praying will somehow miraculously come through save us trouble times but realistically speaking defending ourselves using appropriate combat skills become must necessity nowdays due increasingly dangerous world we live today can’t stress enough importance learningsomeone properly defend themselves properly case worse actually comes worst
