Jacare Souza Bio
Jacare Souza is one of the most accomplished Brazilian MMA fighters in history. He has fought in both the UFC and Strikeforce, and he currently holds a professional record of 26 wins, 8 losses, 0 draws, and 1 no contest. Jacare’s accolades include winning the 2011 Strikeforce Middleweight Championship, the 2010 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship Absolute Division title, and three time Muay Thai Champion.
Born on December 7th 1979 near Manaus Brazil , Jacare began training martial arts at an early age. His father was a former judo champion who taught him some basic submission moves when he was only six years old. As he grew older he became interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which lead to his first amateur fight at 18 years old before eventually turning pro eight months later. Since then he has become one of Brazil’s most successful MMA fighters with victories over notable opponents such as Vitor Belfort (twice), Yoel Romero (twice) Gegard Mousasi (twice) and Tim Boetsch just to name a few..At 41 years old , Jacare remains active competing across various promotions but competeing predominantly for UFC where he is currently ranked number 4 in middleweight division according to official UFC rankings .
In addition to his fighting career , Jacare also works as a coach at Team Nogueira , founded by former Pride fighter Minotauro Nogueira which consists of some of best up -and coming fighters from South America .He has trained current high level competitors like ex bantamweight champion Renan Barao among others .
When not competing or coaching , Jacara enjoys spending time outdoors fishing or playing soccer with friends near his home city Rio de Janeiro . This is also part of training routine as it helps him stay fit for upcoming fights . He also loves reading comic books about superheroes that inspired him during younger days because they made him feel invincible even when things went bad like injuries or losses during fights … something that every athlete needs once in awhile if they want to remain motivated throughout their careers .
