Clayton Carpenter is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and is one of the pioneers of MMA. He has a professional record of 24 wins and 2 losses, with 19 victories coming by way of knockout or technical submission.
Originally from Florida, Carpenter grew up idolizing professional fighters such as Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, and Randy Couture. After graduating high school in 2004 he made his pro debut for the now defunct Cage Warriors promotion that same year at 19 years old. After his first few fights he realized that he had found something special in MMA and decided to pursue it further.
In 2007, just three years after turning pro, Carpenter signed with the UFC. His debut came against Michael Bisping at UFC 78 where he lost via unanimous decision. Despite this setback Clayton continued to train hard while sharpening his skills to become a better fighter; ultimately leading him back into fighting shape physically and mentally ready for competition again in 2009 when he faced off against Jorge Rivera at UFC 98 winning via TKO due to Punches & Elbows strikes 4 minutes into round 1 which earned him Knockout Of The Night honors that night as well as Fight Of The Night award along side Rivera for their exciting brawl despite its short duration .
After two consecutive wins over Tom Lawlor & Chris Lytle respectively carpet was tapped by Rich Franklin on New Year’s eve 2010 at UFC 122 in Germany but bounced back shortly afterwards when defeated Goran Reljic via Submission due To Rear Naked Choke In Round 3 At UFN 22 event later that year earning himself Submission Of The Night Honors That night alongside Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira who also submitted Brendan Schaub earlier on same card .
Since then Carpenters career took off reaching heights never before seen during his time competing professionally ,he won nine out of next ten bouts all finishes either by KO/TKO Or Submissions picking up Performance Of The nights along them And On February 27th 2021 won Fight Of The Night honors At UFC 259 Following victorious performance Over Aalon Cruz Via Unanimous Decision
Carpenter hopes to continue inspiring others through MMA training including teaching youth self-defense classes around Florida area .He currently trains With Imperial Athletics Gym In Port Orange ,Florida Alongside Many Other Professional Fighters Including Former Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir & current Interim Lightweight Champ Dan Hooker As Well As other Local Athletes Looking To Pursue Dream One Day !
