Claudio Ribeiro is an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter and UFC athlete who has been competing since 2014. He currently fights in the Middleweight division as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist.
Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on April 27th, 1992, Claudio began his martial arts journey at the age of eight when he started training Muay Thai, which soon became his main combat sport. At fifteen he began to train Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), and within two years had already won his first competition – a silver medal at the state championship of São Paulo. This success drove him to continue competing in more tournaments both nationally and internationally with great results including numerous gold medals throughout the years.
In 2012 Claudio decided to take up professional fighting and joined Team Nogueira where he trained alongside some of the world’s best fighters such as Anderson Silva, Shogun Rua and Vitor Belfort. In 2014 after earning five wins as an amateur fighter, Ribeiro made his professional debut for Aspera Fighting Championship where he defeated Adriano Carvalho by TKO in round three. His next four fights were all victories too: three by submission due to rear naked choke during rounds one or two; one by unanimous decision after going all three rounds; this earned him a shot at World Series of Fighting Global Championship middleweight belt against former champion Alexandre Machado which unfortunately resulted in a loss via second round submission hold triangle choke..
Despite being edged out that night it didn’t stop Claudio from continuing on his path towards becoming one of the top middleweights in MMA today – shortly afterward winning four consecutive bouts under Aspera FC during 2015–2017 with impressive showings against fighters like Luciano Barbosa Jr., Fernando Rodrigues Jr., Alan Carlos Trindade Souza and Fabricio Almeida dos Santos .
