BIOGRAPHY

Claudio Puelles is a professional mixed martial artist from Peru who currently competes in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He has been competing professionally since 2012 and holds an impressive 16-4 record.

Puelles began his fighting career at the age of 15, when he started training in Judo, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. After several years of honing his skills, Claudio made his MMA debut in 2012 with a victory over German Gonzalez via submission. The victory propelled him to sign with Chilean promotions Knockout Promociones Chile and Desafio Extreme Combat where he compiled a 9-2 record. His success earned him a chance to compete on international stages such as Bellator FC and Brave CF where he went 7-0 while claiming championship gold in both organizations.

In October 2019, it was announced that Puelles had signed with UFC after being selected by Dana White’s Contender Series Peru event earlier that year. Since entering UFC, Claudio has competed against notable opponents such as Jordan Leavitt and Marcos Mariano; earning victories over both fighters via decision.
