BIOGRAPHY

Chris Gruetzemacher is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Gruetzemacher was born on December 28th, 1988 in Murrieta, California. He grew up in nearby Temecula and attended Chaparral High School. Gruetzemacher has been involved with martial arts his entire life. He started training at age 12 and fell in love with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu shortly thereafter.

Gruetzemacher began competing in amateur MMA events and quickly took to the sport like a fish to water, winning several titles including two State Championships as well as becoming a NAGA National Champion for four years running from 2007-2010. After building an impressive 11-1 record as an amateur fighter, he decided it was time to make the jump to professional MMA.

In 2012 Gruetzemacher made his professional debut at Xplode Fight Series: Knockout Kings II where he won by unanimous decision against Jerrod Souza. After that win he went on a seven fight win streak before signing with UFC early 2016 as part of The Ultimate Fighter Season 22 cast which pitted American fighters against European opponents coached by former lightweights Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber respectively.

Throughout The Ultimate Fighter season Chris showed off his superior skill level while displaying great technique throughout his fights both standing up or on the ground making him one of fan favorites during the season until being eliminated by teammate Abner Lloveras via submission after three rounds of fighting which put him into third place overall for TUF 22 finale night held at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena featuring Team Europe defeating Team USA 7–5 overall under coach McGregor’s guidance .
Gruetzemaker signed with UFC officially following this event setting out to make another run towards becoming one of featherweight divisions top contenders putting together some solid performances such as submission victories over JC Cottrell & Richard Smoot inside first two rounds displaying once more impressive skills using superior grappling techniques . In total Chris holds six wins within last eight fights when facing strong opponents such Michael McBride , Teruto Ishihara & Chas Skelly respectively all whom are still active competitors inside octagon today showing just how much talent Gruetzeamcher got due being able reach successes even when facing strongest competition possible .
