Armen Petrosyan is an Armenian-born, Italian professional kickboxer who currently competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is best known for his aggressive and calculated fighting style, which made him one of the most successful contenders in the UFC.
Petrosyan began training martial arts at a young age and was immediately drawn to kickboxing. He quickly gained recognition as a top competitor in Europe, winning several prestigious titles before transitioning to mixed martial arts (MMA) competition in 2008. At that point he had already accrued over 50 wins by knockout or submission and had earned himself a reputation as a formidable striker with excellent grappling skills.
In 2011 Petrosyan joined Bellator MMA where he became their first welterweight champion after defeating British fighter Paul Daley via decision at Bellator 61 event. The win solidified his place among top contenders worldwide while also earning him respect from fans around the globe.
He went on to have multiple successful title defenses against tough opponents such as Douglas Lima and Koreshkov before leaving Bellator for another stint in Europe’s Kickboxing arena where he won three more world titles making it six championships under his belt during his career so far! In 2018 “The Pitbull” returned to MMA when he signed with UFC following Georges St Pierre’s retirement announcement at UFC 217 press conference which took place earlier that year. His debut fight against Erick Silva was met with great enthusiasm from fans around the world resulting in an unanimous decision victory for Petrosyan!
Since then Armen has gone on undefeated winning five out seven fights within two years period becoming one of few fighters who never lost inside octagon cage since joining league capturing hearts of many viewers including president Dana White who praised him on numerous occasions calling him “a true warrior”.
Outside cage however Petrosyan holds degree in physical education majoring sport science and enjoys spending time helping out youth fighters mentoring them achieving same level success he did throughout his career! Despite all achievements “The Pitbull” remains humble athlete often speaking about just how lucky he feels each day being able work what doing best – competing on biggest stage possible showing off immense potential each outing proving himself one greatest strikers ever graced Mixed Martial Arts scene world wide gaining massive fan base everywhere going along way inspiring next generations come forth following footsteps!
