BIOGRAPHY

Muhammad Mokaev is a professional MMA fighter and two-time European Champion in Combat Sambo. He currently competes in the UFC’s Lightweight division. Born on December 6, 1997, Mokaev hails from Grozny, Chechnya.

Mokaev first got into martial arts at the age of five when he started practicing judo with his father as a way to stay active and healthy. He then went onto study boxing under famed Russian trainer Umar Zavgaev before transitioning to combat sambo at 16 years old. This is where he found his true calling and within just six months of training was crowned European champion twice as well as world silver medalist in 2016. After competing in other promotions such as Fight Nights Global, ACB and EFN Russia – Mokaev became one of the most sought after young fighters on the circuit winning multiple titles along the way including taking home the prestigious “Fight Of The Night” award for his victory over Artem Frolov at EFN Russia 2018 – setting him up perfectly for an eventual move to UFC .

In April 2021, Mokaev signed with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). In June 2021, it was announced that he will make his promotional debut against Aaron Phillips on July 17th at UFC Fight Night 191: Chiesa vs Magny event which will take place inside Flash Forum on Yas Island , Abu Dhabi. His first fight ended very quickly when Muhammad won via TKO just 2 minutes into Round 1 showing off impressive striking skill set even though this being only second time ever using 4 ounce gloves!

His fighting style has been described by many sources as “an accurate puncher who likes to come forward” while also using an effective mix of takedowns and leg kicks making him a complete package when it comes down to grappling and ground game too!

Outside of Mixed Martial Arts , Muhammad enjoys spending time with family , friends & doing outdoor activities such fitness & swimming ! Additionally , Muhammad holds Bachelor’s degree in International Business Management from University Of Westminster London graduating year 2020 !
