BIOGRAPHY

Luan Lacerda is an up and coming professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on June 15th, 1990, Luan began training at a young age to become one of the top MMA fighters in the world. He first began competing professionally at just 17 years old and by 2013 had already competed in multiple Brazilian regional championships.

In July 2014, Luan signed with the UFC. Since then he has taken part in six fights within their organization; winning three and losing three. His most notable victories include two decisions against fellow Brazilian fighters Felipe Silva at UFC Fight Night 84 in London and Bruno Korea at UFC Fight Night 90: Dos Anjos vs Alverez II from Las Vegas.

Although he has lost his last two fights to Sergio Pettis and Merab Dvalishvili both via decision, this hasn’t stopped him from continuing his pursuit of becoming one of MMA’s biggest stars. He currently trains out of Nova Uniao gym with some of Brazil’s best coaches; including former lightweight champion Jose Aldo and current bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes among others.

Outside of fighting for the UFC, Luan also serves as an inspiration to kids around Rio de Janeiro who come from similar backgrounds as himself growing up impoverished without many opportunities available to them or access to education or funds for sport activities such as mixed martial arts training. To give back to his community Luan often visits local children’s centers teaching classes about self-defense which includes fundamental ground game techniques such as escapes from submissions positions like triangle chokes or armbars along with important values such as respect for their own bodies and those around them that can help shape these young lives for the better through positive messages shared through martial arts teachings .

Luan not only works hard inside but outside of The Octagon too where he can be found actively participating within various charity activities throughout Brazil which have allowed him time away from daily grind that comes with being a professional fighter who is always looking ahead towards competing again soon inside The Octagon by demonstrating what it takes not only physically but mentally as well when it comes facing adversity head on all while keeping focused on ones own dreams no matter how difficult they may seem even when times are tough outside all so one day we can see him take home another victory inside The Octagon!
