BIOGRAPHY

Josh Parisian is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the heavyweight division of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on August 1, 1990 in Huntington Woods, Michigan. He began his career as an amateur MMA fighter when he was only 19 and soon transitioned to professional competition in 2012.

Parisian’s career has been marked by ups and downs. After a dominant amateur run, he went pro and won his first three fights by submission. In 2013, however, he lost two bouts due to injury-related stoppage and also tested positive for marijuana usage; this led him to be suspended for nine months by the Michigan State Athletic Commission. Following this setback Parisian returned stronger than ever – he won five consecutive fights over the next two years with four of them ending via submission or knockout before ultimately taking part in UFC Fight Night 151: Overeem vs Harris on April 27th 2019 where he was defeated via unanimous decision against Juan Adams.
