Sean Harlow's Biography

Sean Harlow was born on March 28, 1995, in Anaheim, California. He is the offspring of Pat and Jennifer Harlow and has two brothers, Cole and Jack. As one of the three Harlow sons, Sean held a special inclination towards football, which eventually shaped his professional career. His secondary school years were spent attending San Clemente High School where his performances in football, playing both as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman, earned him significant recognition.

Harlow’s performances in high school paved the way for a successful pre-collegiate career. He was ranked 47th on Rivals.com’s national offensive tackles list, and the 59th overall prospect in California. Popular sports news and recruiting websites such as ESPN and 247Sports acknowledged his prowess by ranking him within their top 50 tackles. As a result, Harlow received an impressive number of scholarship offers, totaling to 17 in all.

In 2013 Harlow decided to continue his academic and athletic pursuits at Oregon State University. His sophomore year saw him start all 12 games as an offensive lineman, alternating between right tackle for the first five games, and eventually moving to left tackle for the remaining seven games. However, his junior year was marred by injuries as a severe leg injury during game seven against Colorado prematurely ended his season. The injury required extensive rehabilitation, resulting in him missing the spring training for his senior season in 2016.

Despite an unsteady recovery period, Harlow managed to return, playing the remaining nine games as a starting left tackle while balancing his studies. He graduated from OSU with a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences.

Harlow’s dedication and persistence paid off when he was drafted 136th overall in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons. However, his time with the Falcons was somewhat tumultuous. He was waived in September 2018 and then signed with the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad within the same month, only to be released a month later. He then returned to the Falcons’ practice squad, being promoted to the active roster twice before being released again.

In January 2021, the Arizona Cardinals showed interest in Harlow and signed him on a reserve/future contract, only to release him eight months later. His journey then took him to New York, where he signed with the giants in August 2023 but was released within the same month. Following this, he was signed to the Dallas Cowboy’s practice squad. Surprisingly, the Giants, who had earlier released Harlow, signed him off the Cowboy’s practice squad in October 2023.

In August 2024, Harlow would move again, this time signing with the Miami Dolphins. However, his tenure was short-lived, as an injury led to him being placed on the reserve and eventually released within a short span of time.

Sean Harlow, the professional footballer, has never shied away from pivoting his career as and when needed. His journey is a testament to his resilience and adaptability, qualities that have served him well in the world of professional football and beyond.
