BIOGRAPHY

Rasul Douglas, the American professional football player best known for his role as a cornerback, was born on August 29, 1994. Currently playing for the Buffalo Bills in the esteemed National Football League (NFL), Douglas has enjoyed a dynamic career that has been marked by some impressive achievements.

Raised in East Orange, New Jersey, Douglas is no stranger to a bustling environment. One of seven siblings, he was nurtured and raised by his doting grandmother. He spent his young years navigating life alongside his family while honing his football prowess at the East Orange Campus High School.

In his early career, Douglas made his mark as a student-athlete at Nassau Community College. After redshirting in 2012, he recorded a commendable 83 tackles and five interceptions over the next two seasons. His breakout performances paved the way for his transfer to West Virginia University in 2015. As a newcomer, he appeared in 11 games and registered seven tackles with an interception up his sleeve. His progress was undeterred, and in 2016 during his senior year, he was given the prestigious title of first-team All-Big 12 Conference for tying for the nation lead with eight interceptions. Douglas was ultimately picked by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. As the 17th cornerback selected in the draft, he competed with several notable players during training camp for the starting cornerback position. Douglas commenced his professional career as the fourth cornerback on the Eagles’ depth chart. He made his professional regular-season debut against the Kansas City Chiefs in the same year, quickly distinguishing himself as a formidable player.

During his time with the Eagles, Douglas went on to register 25 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 passes defended. His exceptional performance assisted his team in winning the Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots. However, his time with the Eagles came to a close in September 2020 when he was waived during final roster cuts.

Thereafter, Douglas became a member of several esteemed NFL teams including Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, and Green Bay Packers before eventually landing with the Buffalo Bills. Despite suffering a torn MCL, Douglas has demonstrated unwavering dedication by not missing any games and playing through the Bills’ final postseason game on the injured ligament. His performance against the New York Jets, which included two interceptions and one fumble recovery, and his exceptional play in Week 17 against the Patriots, has further validated his strong standing in the NFL.

Douglas and his girlfriend Ny-Asia Franklin welcomed their firstborn, Jeremiah Lusar Douglas, on October 2, 2018.
