Nate Adkins's Biography

Nathan T. Adkins, born July 9th, 1999, is a notable figure in American professional football. Adkins has made a name for himself as a tight end and fullback for the Denver Broncos, one of the well-known teams in the National Football League (NFL). His journey began at East Tennessee State and later at South Carolina where he played college football.

Born to Greg Adkins, a coach, Nathan T. Adkins adopted his father’s passion for sports at an early age. His love for the game began in Knoxville, Tennessee, at Bearden High School where he participated in both football and baseball, laying a strong foundation for his future professional athletic career.

His football career at Bearden High School was distinguished with him playing the center position. Adkins proved himself to be a formidable player, accumulating a total of 76 tackles and six sacks during his senior year. Moreover, his prowess extended to the baseball field where he boasted a career batting average of .354 in his role as a third baseman for the school’s baseball team.

Following his thriving high school athletic career, Nathan Adkins committed to East Tennessee State Buccaneers for his college football career. Here, he took on a new position as a tight end, despite not having previously played that position. Initially, he served as a backup in 2018 as a true freshman. However, with sheer hard work and perseverance, he quickly climbed up the ranks to earn a starting role the very next year in 2019. His exceptional performance earned him the honor of being named first-team all-conference.

The 2020 season was disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this did not stop Adkins from proving his mettle. Despite only playing four of the six games that season, he managed to catch 10 passes for 101 yards, once again earning the title of first-team all-conference. 2021 brought further growth to his career with 33 pass receptions for 357 yards, earning him the rank of second-team all-conference.

At the peak of his college football career, Adkins chose to switch institutions, thus ending his tenure at East Tennessee State University with impressive stats of 73 catches for 749 yards and four touchdowns. He transferred and began to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

His single season stint with the Gamecocks was highly appreciated as he participated in all 13 games, with nine as a starter. He had a reasonable performance with 13 receptions totaling 168 yards.

After passing unnoticed through the 2023 NFL draft, Adkins received an opportunity that took his career to new heights. The Denver Broncos saw potential in this undrafted athlete and signed him up as a free agent. Once again, he landed on his feet, securing his place in the final roster during his rookie season as a Bronco.

All told, Nathan T. Adkins, born to a coach and being a passionate athlete from his early years, ascended through the collegiate ranks to make a name for himself in the NFL. His journey through East Tennessee State University, South Carolina, and finally landing at the Denver Broncos stands testament to his zeal and commitment towards the game he so cherishes – football.
