Milo Eifler's Biography
Camilo “Milo” Eifler was born on the 13th of February, 1998, in Berkeley, California. Eifler shaped his career in professional American football by playing the position of the linebacker. His notable performances have contributed significantly to several teams like the Atlanta Falcons, the New York Jets, and others over the years. During his college days, Eifler demonstrated incredible skills in both Washington and Illinois. Before laying his professional foundation as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets in 2021, he was a member of the Miami Dolphins and also reinforced the Washington Football Team / Commanders.
Adopted by celebrated research professor Rachel Morello-Frosch and David Eifler, football was not Eifler’s initial interest. He found his love for the game during his high school days at Bishop O’Dowd where he began exploring positions of running back and linebacker on the field. As a freshman, he did not get any chance of participation, but under the guidance and persuasion of Hardy Nickerson, Eifler tried out football as a sophomore subsequently establishing his future path.
As a junior, Eifler earned first-team All-WACC, third-team All-East Bay, and honorable mention of San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro honors. His exceptional performance culminated in him being named as the first-team All-West Alameda County Conference-Foothill League at the outside linebacker position as a senior. His journey took an overwhelming turn when he got an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. His identity further solidified as Eifler was also listed as the 94th prospect by Scout.com, 118 by Rivals.com, 142 by 247Sports.com, and 280 by ESPN.
Following his successful period at high school, Eifler won himself a scholarship to the University of Washington. Despite spending the freshman season of 2016 as a redshirt with no playing time, Eifler picked up his stride in the next year as he played in all 13 games, making six total tackles. But Eifler’s road to success had not been smooth. After transferring to the University of Illinois in 2018, he was not allowed to engage in any play due to transfer regulations.
However, Eifler came back strongly in 2019 where he played in all 13 games and started 12 as a linebacker at Illinois. With a record of 69 total tackles, ten for loss, Eifler hit a headline with a return touchdown against Minnesota. As a senior in 2020, Eifler played in six games and started five, making 27 tackles, and one sack in the season.
Despite going without selection in the 2021 NFL draft, Eifler received an opportunity with the New York Jets, signing as an undrafted free agent. The journey was cut short as he got waived at roster cuts. However, he did bounce back shortly after, as he got signed by the Miami Dolphins to join their practice squad.
In December 2021, he was signed by the Washington Football Team. With his debut in Week 14, Eifler rejoiced his success until he was placed on injured reserve in October 2022. He was resumed to active play on November 25th.
Moreover, 2023 was another substantial year for Eifler. He signed a one-year contract extension with the Commanders in February. Later that year, unfortunately, he got released during the final roster cuts before the 2023 season’s commencement. But, Eifler’s determination was evident with his signing into the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons in September. He was then given a reserve/future contract in January 2024, at the end of the regular season. However, the journey took a detour when Eifler was waived/injured in August of the same year.
Eifler’s unmatched performance on the field and his resilience to make a comeback during his hard times have awarded him his esteemed reputation in the world of NFL. Over his career, he has made an immense contribution to American football as a professional linebacker and continues to inspire many budding footballers.
