Miles Boykin's Biography

Miles Boykin, born October 12, 1996, is an esteemed American professional football player recognized for his skills as a wide receiver. Currently, he plays for the Seattle Seahawks belonging to the National Football League (NFL). His path to professional football began in his early years in Illinois, and extended through his college years at the University of Notre Dame, leading him into a career in the NFL.

Raised in Tinley Park, Illinois, Boykin keenly participated in little league football under the Tinley Park Bulldogs organization, which played a crucial role in sparking his passion for the sport. Following his period at the little league, Boykin moved on to Providence Catholic High School located in New Lenox, Illinois.

Driven by his love for football and ambition to perform at a higher level, he committed himself to the University of Notre Dame post his high school years. He started his college football career by redshirting his first year in 2015. His on-field action began subsequently in 2016 when he participated in 12 games. Demonstrating his potential even in his early stage, he attained six receptions for 81 yards and a winning touchdown.

As Boykin’s college career unfolded, his performance showed steady improvement. In his sophomore year in 2017, he achieved 12 receptions for 253 yards and landed two touchdowns. His outstanding performance continued to shine, as seen when he was crowned the MVP of the 2018 Citrus Bowl after registering three receptions for 102 yards and the game-winning touchdown.

By his junior year in 2018, Boykin’s game reached new heights with 59 receptions for 872 yards and eight touchdowns. His stellar performance during the season led to his decision to enter the 2019 NFL draft.

Embracing a new milestone in his career, Boykin was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He made a remarkable entry in his NFL debut in the 2019 season’s opening match against the Miami Dolphins by catching a touchdown pass. Boykin continued to set new records that season, with career-high occasions like three receptions and his second touchdown in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns, and a career-high 55 yards, including a 50-yard catch in Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks. He also marked his third touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 15.

However, his play in the 2020 season was interrupted after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on December 16. Fortunately, he was activated three days later and was placed on injured reserve ahead of the season owing to a hamstring injury on September 1, 2021. Boykin rebounded quickly and was activated to the active roster by the end of September.

On April 18, 2022, the Ravens released Boykin, triggering his next significant career move. He was claimed by the Pittsburgh Steelers off waivers on April 19, 2022. Boykin played with the Pittsburgh Steelers, having re-signed to a one-year contract on April 24, 2023.

Boykin’s journey continued as he moved to New York to play with the Giants, signing officially on April 9, 2024. His stint with the Giants was brief. He was released by August 27, 2024, and was re-signed to their practice squad, only to be released shortly after.

Finally, Boykin found his way to the Seattle Seahawks, where he currently plays as a wide receiver.
