The University of Southern California (USC) Trojans began their inaugural season as members of the Big Ten Conference in the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS season. The move to the Big Ten Conference followed a century-long affiliation with the Pac-12 and the preceding Pacific Coast Conference. The Trojans are steered by their passionate third-year head coach, Lincoln Riley, during this historic season.

Every home game for USC is held at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which stands proudly in the city of angels, Los Angeles, where the team’s grace, agility, and tenacity can be admired. Among the milestones of the 2024 season is the USC Spring Football Game on the 20th of April, offering a showcase of the young season.

Within the team, different captains are chosen each week to guide the Trojans through the battles on the field. In the very first week, Miller Moss, Kyron Hudson, Jonah Monheim, Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, and Akili Arnold took on the responsibility for leading the team. The following weeks also observed changes in captaincy, which speaks volumes about the diversity of leadership within the team.

The Trojans journeyed through various stadiums during the season, including the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, the iconic Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, among others. They also hosted many games at their fortress, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

By the end of July, the team’s roster was finalized. Interestingly, the squad had seen significant shifts with 30 players leaving due to transfers and an addition of 17 new faces via the same path. Some other Trojans opted to make a name for themselves in the big leagues, leaving for the 2024 NFL Draft. This list included notables like Caleb Williams, MarShawn Lloyd, Austin Jones, and Brenden Rice. However, a global draft to the Canadian Football League (CFL) saw the exit of Tyrone Taleni alone.

The Trojans invited eight members of their 2023 squad to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, an event that provides an opportunity to showcase their abilities potentially earning them a spot in professional football. The USC Pro Day, another important scouting platform, was set for the 20th of March, 2024.

The Trojans have always believed in fresh talent, demonstrated by their recruitment drive in the 2024 cycle – signing 22 players, leaving one committed player unsigned, welcoming two junior college transfers and five walk-ons.

Football, as a team sport, demands contributions from every player, regardless of their position. Whether they’re making a game-changing interception, assisting their teammates, making sure the quarterback is well protected, or putting points on the board, every Trojan is vital to the team’s success.
