Born on July 12, 1991, K’Waun Lamar Williams has made a name for himself in American professional football. Possessing fixtures of fire and talent, he’s made his mark as a skilled cornerback. Currently a free agent, his journey has been filled with memorable moments that reflect his passion for the sport. Williams’ journey began at Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey, where he played high school football for the Green Knights. His roles of running back, wide receiver, and cornerback did not just burnish his skills, but also prepared him for the challenges ahead. His senior year was full of notable achievements, including 32 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, four rushing touchdowns, and four receiving touchdowns.

His college years saw him playing football for the Pittsburgh Panthers from 2010 to 2013. Though Williams wasn’t drafted in 2014, he managed to draw attention from both the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Choosing not to attend the Steelers’ rookie camp, he reunited with Browns’ defensive back coach Jeff Hafley, with whom he had a long-standing connection. Eventually, he signed a two-year contract with the Browns.

His time with the Browns notably pivoted his career towards professional growth. He competed for a roster spot as a backup cornerback, eventually becoming the seventh cornerback on the Browns’ depth chart. He also played in the position of a backup nickelback.

His rookie season was marked by several solo tackles, pass deflections, and a sack. The following training season, he was named the first-team nickelback, further solidifying his standing in the team. However, in 2016, he faced suspension and a subsequent fine from the Browns, largely attributed to differences of opinions on his health. Following a period of contemplation about his future in football, the Browns waived Williams.

The subsequent period was challenging for Williams. Though the Chicago Bears claimed him off waivers, the claim was voided after Williams failed a physical. This was due to an ankle injury that required surgery. The final quarter of 2016 was a period of downtime and recovery for Williams. Months later, he was medically cleared to return to the field.

In February 2017, Williams joined the San Francisco 49ers, signing a one-year contract. He filled the role of the first-team nickelback, a position well-earned after a period of intense competition. His dedication and hard work were rewarded with a three-year contract extension in 2017.

Williams moved to the Denver Broncos in March 2022, signing a two-year contract with them. A few months into his time with the Broncos, he underwent surgery to address scar tissue that had formed following his previous operation.
