Khalid Kareem's Biography

Khalid Kareem, an American professional football player, was born on the 28th of April, 1998. After beginning his football career in high school and college, he would go on to play linebacker at the professional level and find significant success. Known for his dedication to the sport and constant hustle to be the best, he has been an inspiration to many aspiring athletes.

Kareem attended Harrison High School, located in Farmington, Michigan, where his future as an elite athlete started to take form. His exceptional performance and potential talent made him a highly sought-after recruit. Ultimately he committed to the University of Notre Dame, deciding that the South Bend, Indiana, school would be the ideal place for him to hone his skills, grow as a player, and prepare for a potential professional career.

From 2016 to 2019, Kareem played college football at Notre Dame, a nationally recognized program known for its commitment to building not just excellent athletes, but well-rounded individuals. During his tenure there, he racked up 108 tackles and 13 sacks – an impressive track record that caught the attention of NFL teams. He proved himself a robust and dependable player, remaining consistent in his performances with an intense dedication to perfecting his craft.

In the 5th round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Kareem with the 147th overall pick. He was understandably excited to start this new chapter in his football career. However, he was placed on the active/non-football injury list just a few months after the draft, on July 27, 2020. Undeterred, Kareem recovered and returned to active status less than a month later, on August 23, 2020.

In his scoring debut in Week 11 against the Washington Football Team, Kareem secured his first career sack on Alex Smith, marking an important milestone in his burgeoning career. Despite the team’s 20-9 loss, Kareem’s individual performance shone brightly, offering a hint of his future success in the NFL.

Throughout his career, Kareem endured several injuries. The most impactful being a hamstring injury in 2022 that led to him being placed on the injured reserve list twice. However, his strong determination and stellar recovery skills allowed him to bounce back each time. In each setback, Kareem saw an opportunity to grow and come back even stronger, and that is precisely what he did.

Following his time with the Bengals, Kareem was signed off the Bengals practice squad by the Indianapolis Colts on November 22, 2022. However, a series of events led to him being waived in August 2023. Undeterred, Kareem was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Bears the very next day. After a stint with them and undergoing yet another injury period, he signed a reserve/future contract in January 2024.

Unfortunately, his journey with the Bears was temporary as he was released in August 2024. However, not one to back down from challenges, Kareem found another opportunity shortly after and was signed to the practice squad of yet another NFL franchise, the Atlanta Falcons, where he is currently creating ripples.
