BIOGRAPHY

Kenneth Moore II, a professional American football cornerback, was born on August 23, 1995. Currently, Moore showcases his exceptional football skills with the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). His journey in football began in his senior year at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia, where he also participated in soccer, basketball, and track. Despite not playing football until his final high school year, Moore displayed a promising talent, amassing 18 tackles, two interceptions, and two pass breakups in 2012.

Following high school, Moore attended Valdosta State University, where he played for the esteemed Valdosta State Blazers from 2013 to 2016. His college football career began productively as a cornerback, but in his senior year, he converted to safety. Over his college football career, Moore played in numerous games, exhibiting impressive stats and developing his game. His achievements during this period include 45 solo tackles, 20 tackle assists, one sack, eight pass breakups, and five interceptions.

Moreover, Moore’s performance as a Blazer won him several accolades, such as the First-team All-Gulf South Conference (GSC), USA College Football Division II Second-team All-American honors, and more. His exemplary performance, particularly his record of 11 career interceptions, still stands as the fifth all-time score in the school’s history. Moore didn’t just excel on the field; his academic performance was equally commendable. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mass media while scoring touchdowns at Valdosta State.

On May 5, 2017, Moore successfully dived into the professional football realm by signing a three-year contract, worth $1.66 million, with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent. Despite his commendable training camp and preseason performance, Moore, unfortunately, didn’t make the Patriots’ final roster and was waived. However, he soon found a new home. On September 3, 2017, the Indianapolis Colts claimed Moore off of waivers.

As a Colt, Moore showed his worth as he earned his first professional career start in week 13 after a fellow player sustained an injury. In 2018, Moore further established himself as a force on the field, recording 77 combined tackles, three interceptions, and 11 pass deflections in 15 games. A year later, in 2019, Moore signed a four-year, $36 million extension with the Colts, making him the highest-paid slot cornerback in the league at the time.

Over the following years, Moore’s career thrived as he recorded multiple interceptions and sacks, resulting in several wins for the Colts. He consistently proved himself to be an asset to the team, even scoring his first NFL touchdown during a game against the Detroit Lions in 2020. Despite a few setbacks due to injuries, Moore rebounded each time, demonstrating resilience and unwavering dedication to the game.

In 2021, Moore achieved monumental success as he was named to his first career Pro Bowl after starting all 17 games and recording outstanding stats. He also garnered significant recognition off-field, becoming the Colts’ nominee for the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

In a 2023 game against the Carolina Panthers, Moore made Colts history by becoming the first defensive player in the franchise to score more than one defensive touchdown in a single game. This performance solidified him as a key player in the Colts’ roster and earned him the honor of American Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

As his career continues, Moore’s determination and knack for the game remain consistent. In March 2024, Moore’s immense contributions to the Colts got recognized when he landed a three-year, $30 million contract extension. Thus, his incredible journey from a high school senior who hadn’t engaged in football until then, to an acclaimed professional NFL player, continues to be remarkable. Moore’s story serves as an excellent example of perseverance, skill, and a relentless drive towards success.
