Keaton Sutherland's Biography

Keaton Sutherland was born on February 12, 1997, in the United States of America. Today, he is recognized as an accomplished professional football guard. However, he currently holds the status of a free agent, which provides him the flexibility to sign with any team in the National Football League (NFL). His football journey is a testament to resilience, passion, and hard work.

Sutherland’s journey into professional football began in his college years when he joined the Texas A&M football team. An early enrollee, he emerged as a promising player for the Texas A&M Aggies, contributing significantly to the team throughout his four seasons.

Astoundingly, he was named the starting right guard of the Aggies in his true freshman season. Throughout that season, he played an integral role in all 13 games of the team and served as the lead player in seven of them. Unfortunately, an injured shoulder resulted in surgery after his freshman season. As a consequence, Sutherland had to miss the spring practice, subsequently losing his starting position.

Undeterred, Sutherland made a strong comeback in his sophomore season and earned his starter’s spot back for the last four games after participating in eight games throughout the season. Despite undergoing an appendectomy during a break in his junior year, he swiftly recovered without missing a game.

Sutherland made a memorable shift in his career in 2019 when he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent on April 27. Despite being waived at the end of the training camp, he was re-signed to the team’s practice squad on September 1.

Sutherland’s resilience and talent led to his promotion to the active rooster on September 17. His NFL debut was made on September 22, against the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, he was waived shortly after on September 25, 2019.

However, this acted as a catalyst for another significant milestone in his career. On September 26, 2019, Sutherland was picked by the Miami Dolphins. After his stay with the Dolphins, which lasted until September 5, 2020, Cincinnati Bengals signed him back to their practice squad on September 8.

Sutherland’s journey took another exciting turn when he was promoted to the Bengals active roster on September 28, 2020. He stayed with them until he was waived on August 31, 2021. However, his competence saw him being re-signed to their practice squad the very next day.

2022 marked another chapter in his career when Sutherland joined the San Francisco 49ers on March 8. Even though he was waived by the 49ers on August 30, he was signed back to their practice squad the next day. His tenure with the 49ers ended when he was released on September 13, 2022.

A month later, on October 4, 2022, he signed with the Washington Commanders’ practice squad. He continued with their practice squad until he signed a reserve/future contract on January 9, 2023. His stay with the Commanders came to an end when he was released on August 5, 2023.

The seasoned player was quickly claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans. Unfortunately, his tenure with the Texans was brief, as he was waived on August 29, 2023. His football journey led him to the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 27, 2023. After signing a reserve/future contract on January 8, 2024, Sutherland was released by the Jaguars on August 25, 2024.

Throughout his professional football career, Sutherland’s perseverance, talent, and commitment have remained unchallenged despite numerous adversities he had to face.
