Keaontay Ingram

Keaontay Ingram is an American football running back for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on July 27, 1999 in Henderson, Texas. Ingram attended Carthage High School and earned second-team all-state honors his senior season.

After high school, Keaontay committed to play college football at The University of Texas at Austin (UT). As a freshman in 2017, he played in 12 games and rushed for 602 yards and three touchdowns on just 85 carries. He also added 13 receptions for 132 yards receiving that same year.

As a sophomore in 2018, Keaontay started nine games at running back while appearing in all 13 contests for UT’s squad that would go on to win the Big 12 conference championship game against Oklahoma . During this season he compiled 850 rushing yards with six touchdowns alongside 28 catches for 250 receiving yards and another touchdown.

In 2019 as a junior, Keaontay continued his success as one of the top offensive players on his team by gaining 908 rushing yards with 10 scores despite seeing a decrease in touches due to injury issues throughout the campaign. He also had 29 receptions for 269 receiving yards which earned him All-Big 12 first team recognition from both coaches and media outlets alike.

Following his standout collegiate career Ingram declared early entry into 2020 NFL Draft where he was selected by Dallas Cowboys with their second round pick (in 2021). In training camp leading up to start of 2021 season , Keaontay has received rave reviews from teammates and coaching staff alike who have seen an increased confidence out of him carrying over from strong play during college years . With Ezekiel Elliott expected to miss some time due suspension it will be interesting see how quickly rookie adjusts NFL level opponents large role within offense so early into professional career .
