Jelani Woods, born on October 9, 1998, is a highly regarded American professional football player, currently commanding the position of tight end for the Indianapolis Colts, a team in the National Football League (NFL).
His journey to professional football began in Ellenwood, Georgia, where he grew up and attended Cedar Grove High School. As a high school athlete, he played quarterback and enjoyed a successful junior season. Jelani passed for 1,992 yards and accomplished 20 touchdown passes against six interceptions. Demonstrating his athletic prowess, he was honored with the title of honorable mention All-State in basketball by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. His senior year was notable as he was recognized as an honorable mention All-State and first-team All-Region 5 3A. In this period, he threw for 2,316 yards and scored 26 touchdowns. Given his exceptional performances, he was rated a three-star recruit.
Following high school, Jelani faced offers from several notable colleges but ultimately committed to play college football at Oklahoma State.
