Jared Mayden's Biography
Jared Mayden, an American football star whose specialty position is safety, was born on the 24th day of June in 1998. Standing out as a dynamic playmaker from an early age, Mayden’s love for the sport took him to the University of Alabama, where he demonstrated his skill and dedication to the nation as a college football player.
In his final year at Alabama, Mayden really came into his own, being assigned as the starting safety – an indicator of his development and the trust placed in him by coaches. Throughout that season, his successful performance was quantified through several impressive statistics – he accumulated four interceptions and allowed 17 receptions on just 30 targets for a total of 152 yards. This, however, merely skims the surface of his contributions that year. Mayden went on to rack up 59 tackles, three of which were tackles for a loss, and also broke up three passes.
Even more impressive was Mayden’s versatility as a player. His prowess extended to cover several defensive positions, enabling him to supplement the team’s efforts from a variety of angles. His coach and spectators praised his adaptability, proving him to be an invaluable member of his team. At the culmination of his college career, Mayden also participated in the coveted Senior Bowl.
Despite not being drafted, Jared’s college exploits earned him a chance as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers. He signed with the squad on April 28, 2020. Unfortunately, he was waived from the 49ers on September 5, 2020, but promptly signed to the practice squad just a day later. There, he proved his worth and was elevated to the active roster – though intermittently – on October 24 and November 14 for the team’s weeks 7 and 10 games against the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints, respectively. Though he was sent back to the practice squad after each game, he continued to push.
Sadly, Mayden was placed on the practice squad/injured list on November 17, 2020. Undeterred, he pressed on and was presented with a reserve/future contract on January 6, 2021. However, there was more tumult to come. On August 31, 2021, he was waived by the 49ers but swiftly re-signed to the practice squad before being released again in mid-October.
This setback soon turned around when, on October 26, 2021, he found a new home with the Philadelphia Eagles, signing with their practice squad. He signed another reserve/future contract with the Eagles on January 18, 2022. Unfortunately, due to an injury, he was waived on August 16 of that year and subsequently placed on injured reserve. He was released by the Eagles a month later.
In October 2022, Mayden joined the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills. However, this position was short-lived as he was cut from the practice squad in early November. Moving on, Mayden was signed to the New York Jets practice squad just two days later. Despite his efforts, his Jets stint also ended abruptly as he was signed by the Bills from the Jets practice squad on January 4, 2023. Mayden’s time with Buffalo ended again as he was cut from the team roster in late August 2023.
Destined though to continue his passion for football, Mayden was welcomed aboard by the Arlington Renegades of the XFL on December 18, 2023. Yet once again, the stint there was short-lived and he was waived on March 21, 2024. Despite these constant changes, Mayden’s commitment to his craft never wavered.
Born in the 90s, Jared Mayden’s journey through the world of American football has been notably dynamic. His skill, versatility, and resilience in the face of numerous career changes further establish his status as a dedicated defensive football player. His legacy as an American football safety, embarking on an incredible, constantly evolving journey, serves as a testament to determination and the power of believing in one’s own ability.
