Isaiah Mack's Biography

Isaiah Dwight Mack, a dedicated and exceptional athlete, was born on March 19th, 1996 in Tunnel Hill, Georgia. He cemented his journey into professional sports at Northwest Whitfield High School where he excelled in both football and wrestling. In his junior year, Isaiah had a standout 137 tackles, 30 of which were for loss, and eight sacks. One outstanding performance was against Gilmer High School where he accumulated 30 tackles, including nine for loss. Thanks to his performance, he was honored as the first-team All-Region 7-AAAA and the regional defensive player of the year.

Isaiah’s remarkable performance continued during his senior year. He was again selected first-team all-region and defensive player of the year, following his tally of 121 tackles, 21 losses, 29 quarterback pressures along with four forced fumbles. His tenacity and skill on the playing field did not go unnoticed; he received college football offers from several Universities but eventually committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

As a proud member of the Chattanooga Mocs football team, Isaiah redshirted his freshman year and further established himself as a formidable player in the subsequent years. By his redshirt freshman season, Isaiah had become the Mocs’ defensive line’s leading starter. He accumulated 54 tackles—nine for loss, 3.5 sacks, and a forced fumble that season and was named to the Southern Conference (SoCon) All-Freshman team. Improving year upon year, he made 36 tackles, finishing fourth in the conference in tackles for loss and sacks in his redshirt sophomore year. In his redshirt junior year, he was named second-team All-SoCon with 54 tackles, seven for a loss, and 1.5 sacks.

Isaiah’s football career hit a new peak in his last year at college as a redshirt senior when he was named first-team All-American by the Associated Press, first-team All-SoCon, and the SoCon Defensive Player of the Year. That year, he made 78 tackles, with 11 for loss, 8.5 sacks, two passes defended, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Having established an outstanding record in college football, Isaiah decided to turn professional. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans on April 28th, 2019. He made his NFL debut with a road victory against the Cleveland Browns and didn’t look back. Throughout his rookie year, he made eight tackles, one fumble recovery, and 1.5 sacks. However, in a surprise move on November 2nd, 2020, the Titans waived him.

Two days later, Isaiah was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots; unfortunately, he was waived again within less than two months. Following a brief stint on the Patriots’ practice squad, which was cut short due to him being placed on the practice squad/COVID-19 by the team, he moved to the Denver Broncos on February 11th, 2021. Later that year, he spent brief periods with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens.

In 2022, Isaiah spent a short time with the Seattle Seahawks before being waived, and then claimed off waivers by the New York Jets in early 2023. He was added to their active roster only after Super Bowl LVII. After being released by the Jets, he joined the Washington Commanders, but was again let go before the start of the 2023 season.

In 2024, the Miami Dolphins signed Isaiah with hopes of his veteran presence and skill helping their defensive line. However, Isaiah was once more released later that year on August 27. While his professional football career has seen many ups and downs, one cannot deny the passion, skill, and dedication that Isaiah Mack brings to the game. Throughout his journey, his family, including his younger brother Rashaun, and his mother, Sequoyah Mack, have been a strong pillar of support.
