DeKaylin Zecharius “DK” Metcalf (born December 14, 1997) is an American National Football League (NFL) player, commonly recognized as one of the top wide receivers in the game. Known for his impressive physical attributes and unmatched explosiveness on the field, Metcalf has become a significant name in professional football, representing the Seattle Seahawks since his draft year in 2019.

Metcalf was born in Oxford, Mississippi. The athletic gene runs in his family—his father, Terrence Metcalf, was a former NFL offensive lineman for the Chicago Bears. Encouraged by his father’s influence, he nurtured his interest in football and decided to follow in his footsteps.

During his high school years, Metcalf attended Oxford High School in Mississippi, where he excelled as a football player, and also revealed his talent in track and field. Upon graduation, he chose to attend the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss, to further his football career while simultaneously pursuing a degree.

Metcalf went through rigorous training for the NFL Scouting Combine, a week-long showcase occurring every February where college football players perform physical and mental tests in front of NFL coaches, general managers, and scouts. Displaying a unique blend of size and speed, Metcalf posted a 4.33 in the 40-yard dash and registered a 40.5 inch vertical leap, gaining significant attention from every franchise.
