Corey Coleman Bio
Corey Defians Coleman is a former American football wide receiver from Dallas, Texas, born July 6, 1994. Listed at 5 feet 11 inches, he played college football at Baylor after attending J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson. Coleman became one of Baylor’s most accomplished receivers, earning All-American recognition in 2014 and 2015 and helping the Bears win consecutive Big 12 championships in 2013 and 2014.
Coleman’s defining college honor came in December 2015, when he won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s outstanding college receiver. He was also a unanimous All-American and unanimous first-team All-Big 12 selection that season. The Cleveland Browns selected him 15th overall in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, making him the first wide receiver chosen in that draft.
Coleman played for the Cleveland Browns and later had NFL affiliations with the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs. He also played for the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL. TCU announced in March 2025 that Coleman had joined its football staff as an assistant working with wide receivers, while also describing him as having retired from professional football the previous spring. Baylor later named him to its 2026 Hall of Fame class. His playing style was built around speed, explosiveness and the ability to create separation as a vertical receiving threat.
