Chris Oladokun

The professional football fraternity recognizes Chris Oladokun as a skillful, dynamic, and accomplished quarterback. Born on September 3, 1997, in Tampa, Florida, Chris initially nurtured his football skills at Braulio Alonso High School. Displaying significant promise as a young player, he held the starting quarterback position during both his sophomore and junior years. During these seasons, he made impressive headway, recording 3,746 passing yards and 35 touchdowns.

Upon his transfer to Sickles High School for his senior year, Oladokun was ranked as a three-star recruit. He attracted football scholarship offers from numerous universities including Nebraska, Temple, Iowa State, and Toledo. However, Oladokun’s choice fell on the University of South Florida, where he started his college football journey with the South Florida Bulls.

Choosing to redshirt his true freshman season with the Bulls was a significant turning point in his career. It was during his redshirt freshman year that Oladokun had his first taste of significant collegiate football action, playing in two games where he completed a 12-yard pass and made a single rushing yard. This experience played an important role in shaping his subsequent success.

The redshirt sophomore season saw Oladokun rise to the occasion starting three games. With a completion rate of 50%, he accumulated 285 yards off 44 attempts, sealing three touchdowns and a single interception. Despite the accomplishment, he transferred to Samford Bulldogs after the end of the season.

At Samford Bulldogs, Oladokun brought his A-game to the field. Playing in all 12 games of that season, eight of which he started, he compiled 2,064 passing yards and 18 touchdowns. Besides, he showcased his running prowess with a remarkable 493 yards and eight touchdowns. Following his time with the Bulldogs, he joined the South Dakota State Jackrabbits as a graduate transfer for his senior season, finishing with 3,164 passing yards and 25 touchdowns.

Oladokun’s college performance did not go unnoticed. He was selected 241st overall in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately, he was released from the team on August 23, 2022, but not long after, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad on August 31, 2022.

His time with the Chiefs ushered a new era in his career. He secured his first Super Bowl championship when the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. Chris signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs on February 15, 2023, fortifying his position with the team.

Chris was waived by the Chiefs as part of the final roster cuts on August 31, 2023, and signed back on their practice squad the following day. Later in the season, before the game with the Los Angeles Chargers, he was elevated to the active roster. Although he did not play in that game, he gained valuable exposure.

Adding to his glorious journey, Chris won his second straight Super Bowl in 2024 when the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Despite this, he was waived by the Chiefs on August 27, 2024. As of now, Chris Oladokun is a free agent, awaiting his next opportunity to prove his prowess on the field.
