Chris Slayton Bio
Chris Slayton is an American football defensive lineman who played college football at Syracuse from 2015 through 2018. As a senior, he served as Syracuse’s defensive captain, earned All-ACC and All-ECAC honorable mention recognition, and received the Ben Schwartzwalder Award as the program’s exemplary football player. Syracuse described him as a productive interior defender who combined size, quickness and strength at the point of attack.
The New York Giants selected Slayton in the seventh round, 245th overall, of the 2019 NFL Draft. He joined the Giants’ practice squad after training-camp roster moves and was signed to the active roster in December 2019. Slayton later spent time in the organizations of Buffalo, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Green Bay, including practice-squad and reserve/future-contract stints. Green Bay’s 2023 transactions document records him signing to the Packers’ practice squad on August 30, 2023; no later current-team affiliation was established in the reviewed official sources, so his present employment is not stated here.
