Caden Sterns, born on November 2, 1999, is a celebrated American professional football player. Primarily known for his performance as a safety, he stands out in the National Football League (NFL) as a valuable member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Born and bred in the heart of Texas, Sterns’ passion for football was evident from his early life, and his journey has led him through multiple colleges, teams, and leagues.

Sterns attended Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, where he cultivated his impeccable football skills and passion for the sport. This passion for football runs in the Sterne family as his older brother, Jordan Sterns, was a stellar two-way player during his high school years (2010-2013). Jordan’s success would later see him playing at Oklahoma State University. Caden Sterns developed a unique style and commitment to the game, recording an impressive 235 tackles and 11 interceptions during his career. His outstanding skills earned him a place to play in the renowned 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, where he won the distinguished Pete Dawkins Trophy as the game’s MVP.

As a five-star recruit, Sterns initially committed to Louisiana State University (LSU). However, he soon redirected his collegiate career to the University of Texas at Austin (UT). During his freshman year in Texas in 2018, Sterns started all 13 games. His remarkable performances led him to be voted the Big 12 Conference Defensive Freshman of the Year, also securing a place on the first-team All-Big 12. The following year produced similarly impressive statistics, including 59 tackles and one sack.

Entering his professional journey, Sterns declared for the 2021 NFL draft on November 30, 2020. The Denver Broncos selected Sterns in the fifth round, 152nd overall. He officially became a member of the Broncos on May 11, 2021. However, in 2022 and 2023, Sterns’ career faced a series of setbacks due to injuries. Thankfully, Sterns’ resilience saw him through this challenging time, and on August 11, 2024, he officially joined the Philadelphia Eagles after brief stints with the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers.

His story doesn’t end here. The Sterns family is well-known in collegiate football circles. Sterns’ family includes three boisterous brothers who also have remarkable achievements in college-level football. His oldest brother, Jordan, played as a notable safety at Oklahoma State between 2013 and 2016. The youngest brother, Josh Sterns, currently plays for Western Kentucky Hilltoppers as a wide receiver, alongside their mutual brother Jerreth Sterns. Jerreth played for Houston Baptist University before moving to Western Kentucky Hilltoppers for his final year of college to play together with his teammate, Bailey Zappe. Proving his skills further afield, Jerreth was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League, highlighting the football prowess within the Sterns family.
