BIOGRAPHY

Arlington Hambright, born on January 30, 1996, is an esteemed American professional football guard. He made his significant contribution to the sport with his exceptional skills and expertise while playing for the Houston Texans, associated with the National Football League (NFL). Hambright’s journey into the sport sparked with his inherent passion and dedicated perseverance that gradually translated into an illustrious professional career.

Born and bred in Belleville, Hambright kickstarted his journey into football during his college days at Garden City Community College. Graduating Belleville as somewhat of an underdog, being a no-star recruit, he did not let his initial standing discourage him. Instead, he spent his first two years of college energetically pursuing football at Garden City.

After two years at Garden City Community College, Hambright decided to explore new pastures and transferred to Oklahoma State. Here, he redshirted a year and unfortunately had to cut another year short due to an unwelcome injury. Despite the hurdles that came his way, Hambright was determined to be relentless in his journey and played his final season of college at Colorado.

Hambright’s professional career kicked off when he was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round as the 226th overall pick of the 2020 NFL draft. He was formerly acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders due to the blockbuster Khalil Mack trade, which saw two first-round picks, Josh Jacobs, and Damon Arnette, moving to the Raiders. As a part of the Bears, Hambright signed a four-year rookie contract on July 21.

In Week 8, Hambright made his much-anticipated NFL debut on special teams against the New Orleans Saints. The excitement extended to the following week when he had his first NFL start against the renowned Tennessee Titans.

Towards the end of the football season, on August 31, 2021, Hambright was waived by the Bears only to be re-signed to the practice squad the very next day. After a waiting period of several months, Hambright signed a reserve/future contract with the New England Patriots on January 18, 2022, signaling his commitment to continue pursuing his passion.

Unfortunately, his stint with the Patriots was short-lived and he was waived on August 30, 2022. In a surprising turn of events, Hambright was signed to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad on September 1, 2022. With renewed fervor, Hambright signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 9, 2023.

During his time with the Colts, he was juggled between being waived, re-signed to the practice squad, and promoted to the active roster. In his final days with the Colts, Hambright was released on December 14, 2024, and re-signed to the practice squad; perhaps a testament to the team’s faith in his skill set. He proceeded to sign a reserve/future contract again on January 8, 2024.

Hambright’s journey proceeded with another stumbling block when he was waived by the Colts on August 27, 2024. However, in a turn of serendipitous events on September 9, 2024, Hambright was signed by the Houston Texans practice squad.
Throughout his career, Arlington Hambright’s journey has been a testament to his resilience and unwavering passion for football. His ability to persevere through hardships and move forward in the face of adversity truly exemplifies his role as a professional athlete.
