Explore NFL player picksAaron Charles Rodgers is an NFL quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers as of September 12, 2026. Born December 2, 1983, in Chico, California, Rodgers played college football at Butte College before transferring to the University of California, Berkeley. California lists him as a 6-foot-2 quarterback, and he entered the NFL when the Green Bay Packers selected him 24th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.
Rodgers spent his first NFL seasons learning behind Brett Favre before becoming Green Bay’s starting quarterback in 2008. He led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XLV and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player. During his Green Bay career, he established himself as a precise, efficient passer and a highly accomplished leader, earning Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player honors in 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021, along with multiple All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections.
After later playing for the New York Jets, Rodgers joined Pittsburgh as a free agent in 2025. The Steelers re-signed him to a one-year contract on May 18, 2026, confirming his place on the team’s current roster for the 2026 season. Rodgers has said that the 2026 season will be his final NFL season. His career is defined by quick delivery, arm strength, accuracy, poise under pressure and an ability to make controlled throws from inside and outside the pocket.
