Vlatko Cancar

Born on the 10th of April in 1997, Vlatko Čančar is a distinguished professional basketball player hailing from Slovenia. On 3 January 2022, however, a notable setback occurred during a 89–103 loss against the Dallas Mavericks: Čančar suffered a right foot injury. This injury was diagnosed, two days later, as a fracture of his right fifth metatarsal. Thus, on 7 January, he underwent surgery, ruling him out of the games for a minimum of three months.

Despite the setback, Čančar made a triumphant return on 10 April of the same year, playing for a season-high 24 minutes in an overtime loss against the Los Angeles Lakers during the Nuggets’ regular season finale. In this game, he recorded 2 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Another high point of Čančar’s professional journey arrived on 7 July 2022 when he re-signed a three-year contract with the Nuggets. Overcoming limitations and constantly improving, the player scored a career-high 20 points in an overtime win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on 23 November 2022. Čančar’s performance was noteworthy with 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks to his name.

In June 2023, Čančar witnessed one of the most significant milestones in his career—his first NBA championship—when the Nuggets emerged victorious against the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Finals.
