Cameron Johnson is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on October 31, 1996 in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Johnson attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School and then later transferred to The Westtown School, where he helped lead his team to their first Friends Schools League championship in over 20 years. After high school, Cameron went on to play college basketball at Pittsburgh and North Carolina before being selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 11th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Throughout his college career, Johnson showed a lot of promise as he exceeded expectations on both ends of the court. At Pittsburth he averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds per game while shooting 42% from three during his freshmen season . As a sophomore at UNC , Cameron increased those numbers even further averaging 12 points , 5 rebounds , 3 assists and shot 45 % from beyond arc . This put him amongst ACC’s top players going into 2019 draft resulting in him getting drafted by Phoenix Suns.

Since joining Suns however , Cameron has struggled initially as he only managed to average 2 points pregame across 24 games played due largely due to lack of playing time but all that changed this season when given opportunity under new head coach Monty Williams who has expressed great faith in young sharpshooter’s ability resulting in increased minuets off bench averaging 8 points a game while shooting amazing 47 percent from deep range making him one most reliable reserves for phoenix suns organization .
Cameron has also proven himself very unselfish type player who is always willing share ball with teamamtes which makes everyone around him better as shown during 2018-19 unc run when Tarheels offense became vastly more efficient after johnson started running point guard role . Not only that but off court presence has allowed cam be part many community programs such varsity club youth program where volunteers mentor students educational growth or participation charity events like kids makeover day just show what kind person cameron truly is away from sport .

Overall Cameron had tremendous potential since entering nba and its clear phoenix drafting may have been best decision they made recent times as young sharpshooter proved himself valuable asset already putting together solid rookie campaign looking forward will come out even better next few year showing why trust placed upon was well deserved
