Despite having remaining college eligibility, Tristan declared for the NBA draft on April 29, 2024. This ambitious decision bore fruit when he was selected as the 18th overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2024 NBA draft. Joining his college teammates, Cody Williams and KJ Simpson, who were also selected, Colorado became one of a select few programs to boast at least three draft picks in the 2024 draft. He officially signed with the Orlando Magic in July 2024, marking the beginning of a new professional career frontier.

Tristan’s performance during his debut NBA game against the Miami Heat was commendable, contributing to a significant 116-97 win. His athletic prowess is mirrored within his family, with his elder brother Oscar being a professional basketball player for Bayern Munich, having played college basketball at Stanford.
