Mo Bamba's Biography

Mohamed Fakaba Bamba, commonly known as Mo Bamba, is a renowned American-Ivorian professional basketball player who was born on May 12, 1998. As of now, he adorns the jersey of the Los Angeles Clippers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Besides his noteworthy stint with the Clippers, Bamba has also displayed stellar performance in college basketball representing the Texas Longhorns.

Known for his impressive physique, Bamba enjoys a high regard among scouts owing to his massive 7 ft 10 in (2.39 m) wingspan. This asset of his is instrumental in providing him with an edge during games, especially during defensive strategies.

Before climbing up the ranks, Bamba brushed up his skills at the Cardigan Mountain School in Canaan, New Hampshire, and Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania. During his tenure at Westtown School, Bamba was revered for his consistent performances where he averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds, and six blocks per game as a junior. His skills on the court earned him the opportunity to play in the 2017 McDonald’s All American Game and the Nike Hoop Summit.

As a five-star recruit, Bamba was part of a showdown involving Kentucky, Duke, Texas, and Michigan. Eventually, he settled for the University of Texas for his college career. His eligibility during the freshman season was under scrutiny due to alleged illegal benefits from a Michigan-based investor brought to light by his half-brother, Ibrahim Johnson. However, the NCAA confirmed that these accusations would not affect Bamba’s eligibility.
