Max Strus's Biography

Max Strus is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on June 28th, 1995 in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Growing up in his hometown of Palos Heights, Strus attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. During his high school years he excelled at basketball and was named Illinois All-State Honorable Mention as a junior. Following his senior year he accepted an invitation to Playaz Basketball Club where he played with other top prospects from across the city and state. From there Max attended Lewis University during college where he continued to shine. During his time at Lewis University he was awarded GLVC Player of the Year twice, named NABC First Team All-American twice, and AP Honorable Mention All-American once; leading him to be drafted by the Boston Celtics 48th overall in 2019 NBA Draft.

During his rookie season with Boston Max saw limited minutes due to veteran depth ahead of him on the roster but still managed to make an impact when given opportunities on court. After spending much of 2020 in free agency following short stints with both Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks G League teams that same year; it wasn’t until March 2021 when opportunity came knocking again—this time from Chicago Bulls who signed him as a midseason addition for remainder of their 2020–21 campaign.
