He earned first-team All-Big Sky honors with his stellar averages of 12.6 points and a conference-high 10.6 rebounds per game while also finishing third in the conference with 1.8 steals per game. His consistent performance paved his pathway to existing as a paramount figure on his team. He maintained his first-team All-Big Sky selection in the succeeding year, leading once more with an average of 10.9 rebounds, along with 16.7 points and 1.6 steals per game.

Upon wrapping up his spectacular junior season, Jones decided to explore his opportunities in the NBA and entered his name into the 2023 NBA draft. Garnering attention from prestigious associations, Jones received invitations from both the NBA and NBA G League combines. However, after careful consideration, he decided to withdraw and return to Weber State for his final year.

After showcasing his stunning capabilities throughout his senior season at Weber State, Jones took a giant leap in his career in June 2024. He was selected as the 26th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards, substantiating his remarkable talent yet again. However, later in the day, the Wizards traded his draft rights along with the 51st pick in the 2024 draft to the New York Knicks in a deal involving the draft rights to Kyshawn George. Despite this twist, Jones’ fate remained in best hands as the Knicks swiftly traded his draft rights to Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for five future second-round draft picks.

On July 6 of the same year, Jones officially joined the Oklahoma City Thunder, inking a multi-year contract that marked a new era in his professional basketball journey.
